Budget Summary
Arizona State University prepares its annual operating budget in the spring and summer of each year for the fiscal year that begins on July 1. The budget is substantially defined by the spring of each year, but the university is reliant upon the funding decisions made by the state legislature, usually in May or June of each year.
The following are key summaries describing ASU’s operating budgets. These summaries exclude ASU's component units, which are the ASU Foundation, Arizona Capital Facilities Finance Corporation (ACFFC), ASU Alumni Association, Sun Angel Foundation, Sun Angel Endowment, ASU Research Park Inc., Collegiate Golf Foundation, and Mesa Student Housing LLC. Even though these organizations support the University, they are not subsidiaries of the University, nor are they directly controlled by the University.
